What Do You Want From an All in One Printer

Like everyone else in life I am striving for everything I own to be as convenient as possible. Everything in my house has to increase my ability to be as lazy as possible. The only thing that I do not want in my house is convenience food, no short cuts there!

One thing that helps me is wifi technology. I do not need to have think about cables and the mess they make and I can sit anywhere I want and do whatever I want as long as I am in range of my wireless router. ‘You must have a big house’, I hear you say. No, my router has a poor signal strength but we are not here to talk about that.

My next in line gadget was a wireless printer and once I started looking into them I discovered the wonder that is an all in one wireless printer. This is right up my street! Not only do I not need any cables, I can start looking at other functionality like scanning and faxing.

So what am I looking for in my all in one printer:

High printing quality is important. I want photo quality images
Printing technology. Saving money on print cartridges helps the environment as well as my wallet
Scanning quality and the size of the scanning plate
Does the scanning plate recognise text and images and what about the size
Can I copy documents as well?
Does the all in one printer have an auto paper feed tray
How many trays does the printer have and can I load different sizes of paper in each one?

Price is a fairly important factor as well but sometimes you have to spend a little extra to get what you need or want. After some considerable time I decided between the Canon PIXMA MP990 or the Brother MFC-6490CW. I loved the large screen on the Canon printer but the functionality on the Brother won me over.

Before deciding on an all in one printer please consider at least the above list before buying one. If you make the right decision then you will have a high quality product that should last you for years to come.

At last year’s E3, Microsoft debuted a new motion sensing device that would forever change the way the world thinks about motion-sensing devices. The Wii’s success has not come about by offering a superior gaming experience, but instead, a more family oriented one through multitudes of party games.
