Memory Cards for the PSP
While many people are big fans of video games and gaming in general, hand held games are in an interesting league of their own. Appealing to both hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike, PSPs have been a great and entertaining way to have video games on the go. While some would argue over which model of PSP is best, the newest model is the PSPGo which abandons the disc based format of the previous versions and uses digital downloads only instead. While this is the case, older versions of the PSP also support both games saves and digital downloads, which leads to the same problem for all PSP users: Memory cards.
PSP memory cards are becoming more and more popular as the system gets many new titles available for digital download as well as lower prices on older, popular titles. The MS Pro Duo stick which PSPs use is a memory stick which can be used for many devices, including PDAs, portable music or movie players, many types of phones, as well as other, so even if a better card becomes available, the old one won’t go to waste.
Some people don’t own a MS Pro Duo memory stick and would prefer to use other types of cards such as Micro-SD cards. This is also an option, as many companies produce MS Pro Duo converters which allow other cards types to be used for PSPs and other devices.
PSPs themselves are very versatile devices, able to perform multiple functions which other competing handheld devices can’t keep up with. I personally have been very happy with my PSP, and have two 8 gigabyte memory cards, which I use for not only games and game saves, but also for movies, music, pictures. All of these functions and more, including a GREAT web browser, are all made portable thanks to my Sony PSP.
PSP memory cards are an extremely important purchase for any current or future owner, so choose one which has enough memory to hold both your game saves and any digital games you might own. Happy shopping!
