The registry of your computer is an incredibly complex storage center, for settings and user information for multiple programs, along with your operating system. What happens over time, is the registry will become cluttered, from installing and uninstalling programs, games, or other types of software, and not properly cleaning it out upon deletion. This causes a delay that is completely unnoticeable in the beginning, but as time progresses, your computer will begin slowing down. After long enough, these delays will cause your computer to become unusable, as the hard drive, and operating system can no longer read the information that they require, which is stored in the, now, cluttered registry.

In order to relieve your computer of it’s symptoms, you are going to have to use one of the legitimate software based registry cleaners. There are a lot of products on the market, but most of them, typically, include malicious code, which will put advertisements, and other unwanted items on your desktop. These registry cleaners don’t ever actually clean the computer of it’s errors, and remove unwanted data from the registry, but instead, use your computer to make the programmers more, and more money each time you boot up your computer, and connect it to the internet.

Thankfully, though, there are a few products on the market that are legitimate. These programs will actually scan your hard drive, and compare it against the information stored in your registry, about programs you have installed, and will then remove any data that is no longer needed. What this does, is allows your computer easier access to the information that is left, because there is a lot less to scan through, to find what is needed. As you can see, it may seem like just another program, like your virus scanner, but registry cleaner programs do a lot more for your computer than most people give them credit for. Having a cluttered registry slows down the seek time, and load times of programs, including your operating system.
