Using Free Internet Fax Services
Sending faxes can be a necessary part of life; whether sending a document to a Realtor, bank, potential employer or other important contact. While some people may have a fax machine at their homes, others require a quick and inexpensive way to send a fax from their computers. Free Internet fax services are available to assist senders and make the transmission from home or business computer to a recipient’s fax machine a relatively easy process, because to send a fax online free is very easy!
Using free email fax services will require senders to provide the fax service with basic fax information (recipient’s name, fax number, sender’s name and telephone number) as well as the sender’s email address. The email address is used for fax confirmation purposes and to keep track of the number of faxes sent. One of the disadvantages of using free fax services is their limitations. Usually, senders will only be allowed to send a total of two faxes per day and each fax can be no more that two or three pages, total. If needing to send a longer fax, it must be broken up into separate fax transmissions or the paid option must be chosen. Likewise, if having to send more than two fax transmissions per day, a different email address must be used.
One of the other disadvantages of using a free Internet fax service is the use of advertisements. While some people may not mind viewing advertisements while their faxes are being sent, the ads unfortunately are sent to the recipient. Located on the fax’s cover sheet and not the documents themselves, advertisements are still an area where professional judgment must be used, as you may not want a prospective employer, legal representative or financial institution to be bombarded with ads sent by you. However, whenever appropriate, using free online fax services is a great way to save money and get faxes delivered in a timely manner.
